We’ve had an increasing number of ban appeals over the last few months regarding their account being hacked and/or stolen in some manner, and then being banned once the hacker used hacks on the account.
Our stance has always been the same, as heartless as it sounds: your account is your responsibility.
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) has been around for a long time now, and coupled with a strong password will make it virtually impossible for hackers to steal your account. Because of this, there is no excuse for your account to be unsecured.
We have had many people in the past try to claim it wasn’t them in an attempt to have the ban overturned. These individuals were found to be hackers and their appeals were denied accordingly.
All bans issued to accounts that are determined to be stolen will be upheld UNLESS (in the event it’s a PB violation) you submit a ticket to Evenbalance and have them determine the violation was issued in error. In that event, your BF4DB ban will be overturned immediately.
We urge all users to use things like strong passwords and/or 2FA to secure their accounts if they haven’t already done so. You can find websites that will generate a strong password for you, if you don’t want to think of one yourself. If you need help in setting up 2FA, please contact Origin and they will be happy to help.
